5 Reasons Why You'll Fall In Love With The Ferrari 458

When most of us think of sports car, one marque that will no doubt spring to mind is Ferrari. The Italian firm is famous for its many iconic sports cars, and one of those is the 458.

The model first went on sale back in 2010, and it's still a firm favourite with sports car buyers today. Even if you're not a car enthusiast, there's no denying that the Ferrari 458 is a head-turner.

If you were thinking of getting one, what would convince you to throw a wad of cash at your nearest Ferrari dealer? Well, some of the following five reasons might make you want to drive home in a 458 coupe today.

#1 That V8 roar

Even if you're not a petrolhead, there's no denying the sound of a V8 engine will grab your attention! Ferrari is best known for their V12 engines, but the rear-mounted V8s are just as famous.

At the back of the car, you'll find a 4.5-litre V8 powerplant that'll leave you grinning from ear to ear!

#2 There are two flavours to whet your appetite

It's no secret that I'm something of a car nut. I've often driven and owned plenty of exotic cars in the past. I decided to sell my car recently and was on the lookout for a replacement when the Ferrari 458 caught my eye... I can dream!

I also noticed there were two variants available: the Italia and Speciale:

The Italia is the "standard" model; The "Speciale" is a lighter and more powerful version of the Italia.

So, if you have a need for speed, the Speciale will be the model for you. Still, at 562 bhp, the Italia isn't slow by any stretch of the imagination.

#3 It's one of the better rear-engine cars to drive

I've driven plenty of exotics in my time. I have to say that some of them are just terrible to drive even on dry, sunny days! One thing that shocked me was how well the Ferrari 458 felt to drive on the road!

Of course, it's not a car that you should go hooning in. You need to treat it with the respect that it deserves. But, as long as you don't "drive it like you stole it" you'll live to tell the tale!

#4 It features a clever electronic differential

One of the big selling points of the Ferrari 458 is how precise everything is in the vehicle! For example, take the electronic differential.

It boasts a plethora of technology and electronics. But, what does that mean for you? Well, it offers you plenty of driving options to suit your style and road conditions. The car can offer as much or as little input into its handling as you'd like.

#5 It has brakes that work

Some sports car makers have a penchant for skimping on braking systems. As you can imagine, that's a dangerous and stupid thing to do. Ferrari isn't such a cheapskate.

It uses massive carbon ceramic brakes that hide inside its 20-inch alloy wheels. That means when you brake, something happens. And it happens fast!
